Not everything goes as planned. In everything we do here in Kenya, there are trials and tribulations. Yet… all of them pass through our Fathers purpose for us. Here is a recent one.

When we drilled a borehole (well), we struck an underground river with really good water. It did have a small amount of fluoride, but not enough to make the water undrinkable. It really tasted good. We will have to obtain a system to de-fluoridate the water so we can offer it to our neighbors per government regulations, but that is another post forthcoming.

In October of 2019 we began construction of a large holding tank. In December we completed the construction and began filling the huge tank with water from our new well. When the water reached the top, the north and west side blew out and released a torrent of water taking with it some of our shamba (garden). Ouch!

We began the next week cleaning the stones of excess concrete and began again. This time we decided on a new plan of purchasing two rubber, ten thousand liter tanks and placing them inside the stone tank. Both tanks fit within one inch of the walls allowing for a little spread out room.

This approach not only protects the two tanks from the boiling African sun but also made room for the system that will de-fluoridate the water. This eliminated the need to build another space to house the system.

This system is cheaper and infinitely better. Because all things work for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose! Romans 8:28,37
