U.S. Journey Part 3… Coming Home with Mom.
November 11, 2022

Well, our Alabama and North Carolina trip has been wonderful. It is always so good to see the children and grandchildren, while in North Carolina we even got to eat breakfast at Cracker Barrel and then at home, Yiskah fixed a perfect delicious cheesecake ! Those who have eaten there know what we mean, and yes I’ve gained 7 pounds and Cynthia 6.

Leaving Dean’s and Yiskah’s house was hard but we will see them again in a few days as we fly out of Raleigh North Carolina back to Nairobi on the fifth of November. Tomorrow we head to Tennessee to visit our friends in Memphis for a few days.

It will be hard leaving our family in Alabama, as we have had such a good time here.

We went to a town fair in Warrior, Al. and it was a lot of fun. There was a car and motorcycle show, live Alabama music, and of course good Alabama food. Later that week we went to a children’s country fair featuring a cowboy show, fun rides, pig races and a great firework show at the end. We came home to a Riggins tea party and more awesome food. All of this left grandpa and grandma pleasantly exhausted.

One of the most amazing things that happened was the delightful surprise visit of our daughter Lindy Star. We had not seen each other for 10 years and we were ecstatic when she walked in the room. Her heart has turned to seeking the Lord and we were so blessed to be reunited.

The only downside was not being able to fly to Florida. Most everywhere we intended to go and stay was under water due to the massive hurricane Ian. The destruction there was awful, yet none of our family were too adversely affected. We are so grateful to our Father for keeping them all safe.

Tomorrow we drive to Memphis so keep us in your prayers. All in all it has been a very good journey. Blessings to our family and friends back home in Kenya … we miss you.

Much love, David and Cynthia
