The beauty and purpose of all life is to procreate. All living things seek to replicate their life. It would seem that if you desire to be truly among the living, your desire should be to see the spiritual life of Christ you have been given … reproduced. If not … we should ask yourselves … are we truly among the living?
All living things are the most beautiful when seeking to see their life reproduced around them. Think of the flowers or baby puppies. It is not just about being spiritually alive, or looking good that makes you among the living. The proof of true life and beauty is reproduction.
I am speaking about disciples and their life together as the church. Without the innate desire to procreate the life they have been given, it would seem they are not really among the living or at the least, lacking the full expression of that life. They lack the purpose of that beauty.
Here are a few quotes concerning reproducing our life in Christ …
“If you live by the same values and priorities Jesus had, you will find evangelism happening naturally. It becomes a life-style and not a project.” Rebecca Pippert
“The great commission is not an option to be considered; it is a command to be obeyed.” Hudson Taylor
“The church exist for nothing else but to draw men into Christ, to make them little Christ. If they are not doing that, all the cathedrals, clergy, missions, sermons, even the bible itself, are simply a waste of time. God became man for no other purpose.” C.S. Lewis
“Evangelism is not a professional job for a few trained men, but is instead the unrelenting responsibility of every person who belongs to the company of Jesus.” D. Elton Trueblood
Charles Spurgeon states … “all christians are either missionaries or imposters”.
As our churches begin to find their purpose in life, they are, both individually and corporately becoming beautiful. People who never talked are speaking of the glory of Christ. People who felt worthless have become courageous and bold. People who never shared are learning self-sacrificing love. People who only drank milk now crave meat. Blessed be those who are beautiful to the Lord. We are becoming … fully alive from head to toe.
“How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who proclaims peace, who brings glad tidings of good things, who proclaims salvation, who says “your God reigns.”‘ Isaiah 52:7
