We had a wonderful celebration of harvest in Piave, Njoro last Saturday. We met with Susan, the young woman we arranged to obtain a prosthetic leg and she is so happy.

All those who had worked in the church’s shamba (farm) gathered together and shared the harvest. We were also surprised when they also brought us chickens for the Windy Hill Christian Community back home.

Lots of laughs, fellowship, and joy. The churches in Piave are doing so well. They are working together and reaping the benefits. Disciples are making disciples, churches are making churches and their leaders are making leaders. They are exceeding our expectations. Who could ask for more?

Well, that’s what I get for not letting my wife check the post before I post it.

It seems as though the maize was not from the shamba … it was from the proceeds of their baking business they have done together with the new oven we provided them. The widows and abandoned women have been faithfully cooking and selling the bread. They decided to buy 90 kg of maize to share with the needy families in the church. Actually … that’s even better news. The rest of the post is authentic. Getting old is fun.
