Grasping the heart of our youth is so important to our work. It has not been easy and has been years in the making but the fruit is now forthcoming.

Wednesday morning we were thrilled to accommodate fifty-three of our youth on ‘Windy Hill’. We can easily say this was the best gathering of youth we have ever had. They came hungry for both physical and spiritual food. The young disciples living in our compound arranged the entire event and did a great job.

For two days we ate, talked, had fellowship, watched a Jesus film, sang, played volleyball, and discovered each other. It was two days of spiritual intimacy. This was the first time using our dormitories. The bottom floor held the chattering young ladies and the top floor (not finished) contained the energy of the young men. The young men slept on mattresses on the floor.

The teachings consisted of how to enter the friendship of God. It is so good to have young, living examples that are demonstrating what that looks like. They taught, led discussions, testified, and revealed what could actually happen if someone walked in intimacy with Jesus. They baptized four new disciples, three from Kibera Nairobi, and one from Miti Mingi.

We want to give special thanks to our heavenly Father for His grace to pull this off and to those who stood with us in prayer. Appreciation also goes to the young leaders who worked so hard in making this exciting time fruitful.
