The Church of Miti Mingi gathered in our Pavilion yesterday for a day of celebration. Their children’s ministry was also present. There was singing, dancing, a baptism, and even a movie about the life of Christ from the Jesus Film Project. Njirogi, Gilbert, and Caleb (Jame’s son) presided over everything.
The brother who was baptized name is Harrison and he and his family have fully integrated themselves into the church family that resides in Miti Mingi. Harrison is currently working with us at Windy Hill and helping Robert complete the second floor of the dormitory. He is a good worker and faithful disciple.
The movie was shown as everyone enjoyed their lunch. Cynthia is teaching leaders how to set up and show the movie. We have begun showing the movie to hundreds and it is becoming an awesome tool in assisting new members to become disciples and learn Christ.
Many a friend has told us we are foolish for leaving our family, friends, careers, and life in America. Yet … a hero of mine spoke this …
“He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose.” Jim Elliot.
We … are not fools.
