Joyce and Lillian

Those who follow us, may remember a post about Joyce, the young thirteen year old girl with severe scoliosis (curvature of the spine). Already bent over, she was, without help, doomed to be progressively disabled her whole life. By the mercies of our Heavenly Father, the excellent staff of Kijabe AIC-Cure International Children Hospital and the financial help of ‘Heaven’s Family Ministry’ and Austin Parks, we were able to get the surgery needed to ‘straighten Joyce out’.

Joyce’s family is ultra poor and lives in a small mud and stick house. This meant, that Joyce would spend her two month or more recovery, on a mattress on the floor and using a ‘squatty potty’ (basically a hole in the ground) for a toilet. Which… is very awkward, even for someone not having just been through major back surgery.

Enter Christ’s disciple… Lilian.

Lillian is the mother of the precious little seven year old girl Winnie, that died last year. When Lillian heard about Joyce, she quickly responded with… “Let me take care of her during her recovery.” Joyce will now have a nice bed and an english ‘sit down’ toilet to recover with.

To us … this is one of the many proofs that Lillian … ‘has passed out of death and into Life’.

We know that we have passed from death to life because we love the brethren. He who does not love his brother abides in death. (John 3: 14)
