In our previous post, we spoke of a 95+ year old woman who just amazed us. She still does. Her name is Mary and she really is 95+ years old. A few weeks ago Robert, the overseer of her home church met with her and her relatives. There had some questions about keeping her tribal traditions. As they questioned her she stood and said … “There will be no more traditions in my house!” I follow Christ and only want His Kingdom in my house”.

No wavering, no hesitation … just a pure and powerful testimony of the new life she has been given. Amazing. Later at a gathering in her home she was questioned again by some people attending. These folks, being unfamiliar with what we teach in StoneHouse, said …“now you need to put up a building to meet in”. Mary again said … “We don’t need a building … my house belongs to Christ and we can meet here!” Again … just amazing.

Oh that we had more people who unashamedly spoke out like that. To stand and speak those words in Kenya is tantamount to saying you are naive, uninformed and even disloyal to family and friends. Our heavenly King said “ If you are ashamed of Me and what I teach … I will be ashamed of you before God. (Mark 3:38, Luke 9:26).

We honor such disciples in whom Christ will acknowledge before His Father. Like, the apostle Paul, she is unashamed of the gospel and its teachings. (Rom. 1:16) May we all be like Mary and confess the reality of what the Holy Spirit has written.

“Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2 Tim. 2:15)
